Paper Models

Light, Shadow, and Unseen Systems

An exploration of core design principles— pattern, rhythm, order, space, symmetry, and asymmetry.

Axis

n. a line about which a body rotates,
the body of work’s conceptual anchor

Sculpting paper to reveal the frameworks that guide form and function. Each fold in the paper becomes a dialogue—light dances across planes while shadow hints at the subtle architectures beneath. These models exist as more than visual objects; they are manifestations of the unseen systems. The works bridge materiality and the immaterial, offering a glimpse into the intricate structures often overlooked.

Sculpting the essence of light and form—folds transforming shadow into structure, and simplicity into complexity. Each crease holds a dialogue between material and concept, where design becomes both ephemeral and eternal.

Articulation

n. a expression
the shaping of form

Crafted from a single 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper, folded, creased, and cut. As the paper transforms, it becomes a study in dualities, where the simple manipulation of material evokes unseen structures. These forms serve as visual metaphors for the balance between chaos and order, light and dark, simplicity and depth.
