Axis

n. a line about which a body rotates,
the body of work’s conceptual anchor

This project revealed the delicate tension between control and surrender, as nature’s unpredictability disrupted the mechanical precision of the 3D scanner. The resulting artifacts invite reflection on the ways technology interprets—and misinterprets—the natural world, reframing flaws as moments of connection and insight.

At the threshold of technology and nature, the ocean speaks through fractures—the digital gaze falters—fractured by the ocean’s logic, revealing the quiet poetry of imperfection, where technology becomes nature’s collaborator.

Articulation

n. a expression
the shaping of form

Mapping physical landscapes into digital realms, Sarah captured the contours of her favorite beach utilizing LiDar technologies. She embraced the ocean’s natural refractions—light bending through water—to disrupt the tool’s precision. The resulting jagged, fragmented forms reflect a delicate interplay between nature’s fluidity and technology’s structured vision.
